If you are looking to breed the tiniest of miniature horses, as a long time breeder with that goal in mind, I would sincerely recommend one of Andy’s colts. His sire has successfully worked wonders on downsizing our breeding program. They are very rare, in fact, unfortunately we lost two of his foals early this season.
Jack Rabbit’s sire goes back to World Champion Sierra Dawn Uno de Mayo and out of a wonderful overo daughter of Little America Silver Tornado who was only 26″ tall, by Little America’s 007 Rowdy Tornado 27″ who was out of the Queen Mother of our tiny line, Crescent’s Melodee 27.5″. He also traces back to Orion-Light Van’t Huttenest five times. He is one of the premier herdsires in the development of the American Miniature Horse Association. His dam also carries Orion breeding.
So you can see this colt is little and bred to stay that way. If you are looking for the tiniest of our breeding, look no further than this bloodline. I first had a name for him, but when I watched him after the first hour, I decided to change to Jack Rabbit because he was running around his stall like Wylie Coyote was chasing him. A really cute little love bug!
