Little America’s Kickapoo Joy Boy – Reference Only

Black Leopard Appaloosa Stallion
May 27, 2005
AMHA 161243
Measured 30″

Sire: Lazy H Desert Storm
Dam: Little Americas Tex Hallelujah

Desert Storm’s final foal crop proved to be his very best and this colt may be the kingpin of his legacy. The Kickapoo Indians were noted for their appaloosas and in high school I sang in a barber shop quartet called The Kickapoo Joy Boys, so I thought it a fitting name for this fantastic colt!

We had a little fun with him at the AMHA World Show, with Tony winning the Adult Costume World Championship and Lauren was Top Ten with him, too, in Youth Costume! Some people have no dignity, but do have lots of fun entertaining others with two versions of Cruella De Vil and one of her 101 Dalmatians.

About two years ago, Joy Boy had a stroke.  We considered putting him down, but he slowly progressed and has made almost a complete recovery.  In fact we have one filly conceived after his stroke.  However, when we put him with a group of mares last year, he was unsteady and couldn’t handle pasture breeding on a large scale.  For that reason, we are offering him extremely reasonable for someone who wants a pet, or perhaps has only one or two mares.  Selling with no guarantee, but at this price it is just a stud fee.  If we can find it, we will even throw in his World Champion trophy for your mantle.
